Happy Holidays!!!!!!!

Happy-Holidays

Wow, it has been so long since my last post. I am currently addicted to the Disney’s Tsum Tsum game. It has to be the cutest game ever. Here is my own version of the Tsums, I based mine off of the ones in the game.

Starting from the Top Left are Elsa and Olaf (from Frozen), Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Minnie and Mickey Bottom Left is Buzz Lightyear and an Alien (from Toy Story), Sully (aka James P. Sullivan from Monsters, Inc.), Woody (from Toy Story), Mike Wazowski (from Monsters, Inc.), Scrump (Lilo’s doll from Lilo & Stitch), Jack Skellington (from A Nightmare Before Christmas), Bambi (from Bambi), and Winnie the Pooh (from Winnie the Pooh).

Most of ones above I own in the game, Jack Skellington I designed from memory. Olaf was featured on the game at one point, I do not own him yet. Pooh bear, Mike, and the Alien are on the home screen, I can’t wait to get them. I don’t have Donald, Daisy and Pluto yet, they are featured in their holiday outfits, but I changed them slightly.

At the moment Elsa is my favorite Tsum, her magical power is to freeze the bottom rows of Tsums. For some odd reason I can get the most coins when I play with her. I am currently saving up coins to by the boxes until I can get Olaf, Maleficent, the Alice and Wonderland Characters and Jack Skellington. I almost had a heart attack when I got Elsa the first time, I could not believe it.

Well I hope you enjoy the picture (please feel free to critique I have been designing my Tsums for months and the card came together yesterday). Anyway I hope this puts you in a festive mood, designing it made me that much more excited for Christmas.

Green Tea!

As I promised, here is a picture of my cupcakes. I cannot wait to make these again. Here is a link to the recipe Earl Grey Cupcakes. I also cannot wait to try these with Earl Grey tea leaves.

This teapot is my life. I finally have an excuse to use it. Now that it is getting colder, I might have to stock up on tea leaves. I found this teapot in Barnes and Noble last fall. I bought it home that winter and had it hiding in my dresser until I moved back home for fear of someone breaking it. Does anyone else get paranoid when they buy or find something they really like? Either I hid my special items, like my teapot, or I used them until they fall apart, like my Vanity Fair magazine.

Green tea covered pandas! These are the cutest tastiest cookies I have ever had. When I was younger a friend of mine used to always eat chocolate filled koala cookies, but my love for green tea has chocolate beat by a long shot.

Except for greentea bubble tea. Either she mixed in too much powder or the green tea powder is too strong for bubble tea. It was still delicious, but I prefer the milk, taro and maybe mango flavors.

Okay, just a short post tonight. School and work have exhausted me completely.

Homework 1

Hi everyone,

Sorry it’s been a week. But I thought I would share with you some of my homework examples. This week I had to find an example of Asymmetrical symmetry and a few examples from a magazine.

VanFair-Cover

VanFair-Spread11     VanFair-Spread10

This is my favorite magazine ever (the actual magazine not Vanity Fair, although it is a very wonderful magazine). Anyhoo, I am a huge Audrey Hepburn fan and while I was studying abroad in Denmark, I found this in the airport. I don’t usually buy magazines, especially not from the airport, because I think they are too expensive for something that you are just going to throw away eventually.

This cover is less than two years old and already it looks like it survived both world wars. I am always picking it up and flipping through the pages, I even have a few pages bookmarked. I love how the simple design of the cover really brings out Audrey Hepburn and frames her nicely. Unlike most covers where the featured star goes through a photo shoot and the favorite picture is just plopped on the cover, this cover looks like it had a great amount of thought and care.

And right below are the two spreads I chose. I love the pink folios and (it’s hard to tell from the size) how the pictures are overlapping each other and have drop shadows. Everything has such a nice touch that to me screams “Audrey Hepburn.”

Here is what I thought was a great example of Asymmetrical symmetry. The yellow handbags, the taxi, and the skyline scream “You must have this handbag to fit in in New York, let alone stand out!” I am not a huge yellow fan but even I want this handbag. Which again is another reason I don’t buy magazines, I sit there and I want everything!

Also, I just started my 50 ways to use and see Green Tea. So excited! Either tonight or tomorrow I will post my progress. Yesterday, I made green tea cupcakes and I was so in heaven from licking the bowl, you could have dropped a safe on my foot and I wouldn’t notice. Those cupcakes were my motivation to get out of bed yesterday and today. First, I was excited to make them and then I was excited to eat another one. So mad I didn’t have enough ingredients and had to cut the recipe in half.

So excited to show you guys, I took lots and lots of pictures. Me and my turtle had a little green tea party by ourselves, by the way. I had green tea, a tea latte, a smoothie, cupcake batter, I even gave myself a green tea facial. Yes, I just took the phrase “Tea Addict” to a whole new set of heights haha.

Anyway, Luv ya,

Daily Challenge Break

Yay! I almost made it a month with my daily challenge. I’m sorry. School and work have gotten in the way slightly. Im still in my research phase for school but I have a few projects coming up that sound pretty cool and scary at the same time. The scariest is that I am doing an exploration of 50 ways to see green tea.

I am a serious tea junky. I drink about a cup a day. Sadly, I have had to cut back since all the caffeine in my system makes it difficult to sleep. I am not a morning person by any means and need as much sleep as I can get.

Anyway, this project is making my brain hurt thinking of all the ways I can see or use green tea. I cannot wait to show you my process.

Sorry for lack of pictures/drawings. Mondays are horrible days. Maybe tomorrow I will feel more inspired.

Day 24: Lizard Frog

reptiles

I decided to draw a lizard and a frog. I think the lizard is actually a chameleon. Maybe tomorrow I will see if I can make them even cuter. Side note, I have this thing where, whenever I download a new app on my phone I am beyond addicted to it. This morning I decided to download Plants vs. Zombies 2, since it was free. I have been playing it for close to 10 hours. Don’t worry, I took a break after each hour.

I also just realized as I was drawing this picture, I hate drawing feet. For animals, I always forget as I draw the feet how they should look exactly. And for human feet I always mess up at least one of the toes on each foot.

Anyway, enjoy the frog and lizard. The frog looks like he’s deep in thought, haha.

Luv ya,

Day 22: Pattern

Really sorry, I missed another post. But I have been working on this pattern of my “Piggy Cafe” since yesterday.

PiggyPattern PiggyPattern2

My main color scheme is going to be these two colors. I think I love pastels only in my artwork. Looking at my closet, I mainly have blacks, blues, purples, and very few reds and pinks. Oh well, maybe one of these days I will break down and get a pair of bright, bold shoes to be the statement of my dark outfits.

Who knew making a pattern could be so difficult when you have an idea but then have no idea where you are going at the same time. Probably didn’t help that all my icons are different sizes and shapes. Anyway, I really like the outcome of these two. I am so excited about this project. Sorry if this project is moving slower than you like. I work most of the week. And the way I work on a project is to do a little at a time so I can review my work with fresh eyes.

Anywho, it’s late. Goodnight.

Luv ya,

Day 20: Got Milk?

Gotmilk copy

You know if the milk ads when I was little were this cute I might have been able to drink more milk. Yeah, I don’t know where else I was going with this post. Had a horrible headache halfway through work and I still have it. Ugh.

I’m too tired to ramble. Enjoy the cute little cow selling milk. Goodnight.

Luv ya,
